AHP Named a Great Place to Work for Sixth Year

Advocates for Human Potential Inc., (AHP), has been designated a 2021-2022 Great Place to Work Certified company. This is the sixth consecutive year AHP has been named. AHP is a multi-state consulting and research company specializing in transforming health and human services systems of care and business operations to help organizations and individuals — particularly the most vulnerable individuals — reach their full potential. The company is headquartered in Sudbury, Massachusetts, with offices in Chicago and in Pasadena, California. AHP also employs dozens of remote workers across the nation.

AHP earned this credential based on extensive ratings provided by its employees in anonymous surveys. AHP’s overall score increased one percentage point from last year, the sixth annual increase. The company’s “This is a great place to work” score increased by one percentage point to 90%, and the score for “When I look at what we accomplish, I feel a sense of pride” rose 4 points to 94%. Several key areas received 98% agreement from employees: “I believe management would lay people off as a last resort,” “Our customers would rate the service we deliver as “excellent” and “People here are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation.” “People care about each other here” and “I am able to take time off when I think it is necessary” both scored 95%, and “I feel good about the ways we contribute to the community” scored 94%. Certification is a significant achievement and one in which AHP leadership takes great pride, particularly during the pandemic, when companies have had to shift the way business is done to retain workers and keep them safe.

“We are thrilled to once again be recognized as a Great Place to Work,” said Neal Shifman, AHP president and CEO. “We are grateful for our employees’ dedication to serving at-risk populations and to enhancing public health throughout the nation at this difficult time. Our leadership has done all we can to respect employees and protect their health and wellness during the pandemic — this is at the center of our business choices and corporate enhancements.”

Employee benefits introduced over the past year include flexible schedules to allow Mondays or Fridays off during the summer; virtual opportunities for community volunteering during COVID-19; all-company virtual meetings with take-out lunches reimbursed for staff; the addition of a staff-led Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team and care boxes sent to all employees to thank them for their work.

Jim Klepper, AHP Human Resources director, added, “Passionate, dedicated experts in the fields of behavioral and public health join, stay and grow with AHP. I believe this is reflected by the fact that our company is growing at a record pace, despite a national workforce shortage.”

AHP is rapidly growing and seeks talented staff at all levels, from research assistants to senior scientists, project managers to subject matter experts and consultants with a range of expertise. The careers page on AHP’s website lists open positions.
