Matthew L. Kabak, M.S.R.E., J.D.

Matthew L. Kabak, M.S.R.E., J.D., is a real estate attorney for Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP), working primarily on behavioral health infrastructure construction and improvement programs in California. His past private practice and in-house counsel work has focused his experience on property and commercial transactions, with a particular emphasis on commercial leasing, and advising real estate developers, operators, investors, real estate brokers, and office tenants. 
 
Mr. Kabak has extensive experience negotiating and drafting office leases, subleases, purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, construction agreements and related transactional documents, and advising businesses on entity formation and operation. He is a California-licensed real estate broker, a current member of the California Lawyers Association Commercial Leasing Practice Area Committee, a former member of the Legal Aid Society of San Diego Housing Team, and a past member of San Diego Housing Federation. He also is a graduate of LeSar Development Consultants Housing Policy Leadership Academy.  
 
In his free time, Mr. Kabak enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and spending time with his family and friends. He is a nine-time finisher of triathlon races, including the Santa Cruz Big Kahuna Half-Iron Man, and the Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco, CA. He holds an M.S. in real estate from the University of San Diego, School of Business, a J.D. from Tulane Law School, and a B.A. from Whitman College.
