AHP Releases Three Newly Revised WRAP Products

Human Potential Press (HPP), the publishing arm of Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. (AHP), announces the release of three fully revised and updated Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) products that make it simpler for people to focus on personal wellness “on the go.” These products allow people to carry vital WRAP information with them for easy and immediate reference no matter where they are. The revised products include the WRAP Workbook, Crisis Plan On the Go, and WRAP On the Go. Each publication has been updated to align with other recently revised WRAP books, including the “Red Book.”

The WRAP Workbook has new prompts around WRAP’s five key concepts and the crisis plan, trauma-informed language, and goal-setting tools, and keeps all WRAP forms together for easy reference with enhanced design and layout. The workbook is designed to be used alongside one of the core WRAP books or during participation in a WRAP group led by a pair of certified WRAP Facilitators.

The two revised “On the Go” pamphlets (previously My WRAP and My WRAP Crisis Plan) fold down from a standard page size to practical, pocket-sized versions you can easily carry in a purse, backpack, wallet, or pocket. They offer the convenience, security, and confidence of having WRAP tools on hand at all times. Both pamphlets include broader headings that make it easier to apply the crisis plan or WRAP to any type of crisis or area of life. Other changes include new content that matches the revised “Red Book” and other WRAP products, enhanced design and layout, and standard page size that (when unfolded) makes it easier to copy both sizes of your completed plan “On the Go” for sharing with friends, family, supporters, or providers.

“We have reviewed and revised WRAP products to ensure the content is up to date, can support people to increase wellness and reach their goals in a variety of situations, and is in a format that is flexible, easy to use, and will stand the test of time,” says WRAP Project Manager Kristen King. “We’re excited to share the revised materials with the WRAP community, and I hope they’ll be as inspiring for my fellow WRAPpers as they have been for me in updating my personal WRAP.” King is a WRAP Facilitator who has been using WRAP since 2009.

WRAP is used around the world as a powerful process to help anyone get well, stay well, and make their life the way they want it to be. Originally developed in 1997 by a group of people who were working to overcome their own mental health challenges, WRAP is now used extensively by people in all kinds of circumstances and by healthcare and mental health systems all over the world to address a variety of physical, mental health, and life issues.

AHP acquired the full line of WRAP and Recovery Books products in July 2016, including 30+ books, manuals, curricula, and other educational products on wellness and recovery, along with websites, a mobile app, and elearning curricula.

“These three updated products are a sign of AHP’s commitment to refreshing the materials to ensure they continue meeting reader requests and needs,” said Mary Jaffe, WRAP Business Manager, “particularly for portable products that don’t require a lot of effort to carry or access.”

The revised products are available at WRAPandRecoveryBooks.com. Spanish-language versions of the revised WRAP Workbook, WRAP On the Go, and Crisis On the Go are currently being developed.
