Sarah Farmer, M.A., ALWF, CTIP

AHP Communications Manager
Sarah Farmer, M.A., is the communications manager for Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), leading its internal and external public relations initiatives. She is an award-winning communications professional with more than 25 years of wide-ranging experience in public health campaigns, publication development, public relations, and management of community outreach programs. She has also been deeply involved in social marketing campaigns and public relations work for multiple government agencies and nonprofit health and social service organizations.
 
Ms. Farmer has content expertise in behavioral health, substance use disorders, trauma, childhood cancer, women’s health, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, violence prevention and intervention, homelessness, neurological disorders and neurodiversity, adoption, and education. She is an advocate for consumers and families facing mental health crises and works with national parent support groups advocating for policy and treatment changes, trauma-informed care, and education for foster and adoptive parents. She is a Certified Trauma Integration Practitioner (CTIP), an Advanced-Level WRAP Faciliator (ALWF), and holds an M.A. in mass communications/journalism/public relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
