Virtual Solutions Manager and WRAP® Project Manager

Kristen King, M.B.A., M.P.S., CLC, is Advocates for Human Potential’s (AHP’s) Virtual Solutions Manager and WRAP® Project Manager. She is known for using her experience and skills as a digital strategist and her commitment to human services to remove barriers to learning and access, to create and enhance authentic connections, and to support organizations and individuals to increase their impact. Her subject matter expertise includes behavioral health, housing and homelessness, trauma-informed approaches, criminal justice, and the intersection of those subjects. Ms. King’s passion for public health and wellness is grounded in her lived experience.

Ms. King possesses more than 15 years of digital and print publishing experience and built a six-figure communications firm in the Washington, DC, metro area before joining the AHP team in 2009. In addition to running a communications consultancy, she was previously an adjunct professor in The George Washington University College of Professional Studies and has served on multiple advisory boards in the social media, technology, and human services spaces. Ms. King is also a sought-after speaker, educator, and award-winning writer who has been featured in numerous books and print/digital media.

Ms. King has an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts–Amherst and an M.P.S. in publishing from The George Washington University. She is a certified of Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator and was certified in Motivational Interviewing by University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Integrated Primary Care. She has also been certified as a life coach by the International Coach Federation–accredited Life Purpose Institute. Ms. King lives in a small rural community in the High Rockies of Colorado, where she volunteers actively in the areas of rural sustainability, education, health equity, and youth resilience.
