Simon Heels, B.A.

Research Assistant
Simon Heels is a research assistant at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), where he is part of the evaluation team for the Massachusetts State Opioid Response grant, the SAMHSA Performance Accountability and Reporting System project, and the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Expansion project. Mr. Heels has developed qualitative and quantitative research skills through his previous position as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of New Hampshire Carsey School of Public Policy evaluation team, where he conducted literature searches; reviewed data collection instruments; prepared figures, charts, and tables; performed statistical data analyses using SPSS; and drafted reports. He is experienced with field research skills, including submitting Institutional Review Board protocols, setting timelines, recruiting and tracking participants, conducting interviews, maintaining confidentiality, and following proper protocol. Mr. Heels received his B.A. in sociology from the University of New Hampshire, which included coursework on behavioral health topics such as substance use disorders and mental health.
