Sae-Mi Jeon, Ph.D., LCSW

Senior Research Associate II
Sae-Mi Jeon, Ph.D., LCSW, is a senior research associate II at Advocates for Human Potential’s (AHP) Center for Research and Evaluation. Dr. Jeon’s prior work and expertise focus on issues associated with substance use disorders and mental health, including substance use treatment access and utilization, as well as health equity and racial justice. She has worked with and studied both adolescent and adult populations and has several years of experience in quantitative research, especially in management and statistical analysis of large secondary datasets, survey design, and interdisciplinary psychological research.

Dr. Jeon has also engaged in primary data collection using surveys and semi-structured face-to-face interviews throughout the Greater Boston Area. In addition, she is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Massachusetts, where she worked at major hospitals and community health centers. She has provided individual counseling, group therapy, psychoeducation, and case management for individuals diagnosed with mental health and/or substance use disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Jeon received her M.A. in psychology and her M.S.W. and Ph.D. in social work from Boston University.
