Rue Mansour, M.A., is a program associate for Advocates for Human Potential (AHP). She has had a wide range of involvement in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in her career with work in development, direct support, and education. In development, she has experience working with stakeholders for program planning, data management, and donor discovery. In direct support, she has been responsible for 70 clients practicing trauma-informed care. In education, she has written research papers on youth homelessness and written a curriculum on the dismantling of myths around homelessness. She has collaborated with several nonprofit organizations and educational institutions throughout Southern California, including Door of Hope, School on Wheels, Transition House, and USC Price Center for Social Innovation’s Homeless Policy Research Institute.
Ms.Mansour holds an M.A. in education from UC Santa Barbara (UCSB). During her time at UCSB, her research, primarily qualitative and mixed methods, centered on the implementation of McKinney-Vento and the accessibility and equity of resources for youth experiencing homelessness in secondary education. She has provided professional development related to the subject of support for students experiencing homelessness at UCLA’s Teacher Education Program.
