Maurizio Martinez, B.S.

Senior Program Associate
Maurizio Martinez, B.S., is a senior program associate at Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), currently working on the Incompetent to Stand Trial (ST) Infrastructure Project of the California Department of State Hospitals. He has experience working in homelessness in San Diego, serving diverse populations and amplifying voices of people who have been historically marginalized. Mr. Martinez’s work includes managing and overseeing Community Development Block Grants, providing public assistance to individuals and families in need, advocating for housing rights, and providing client-centered, trauma-informed care. He has worked with incarcerated individuals in California’s criminal justice system, helping reduce recidivism by expanding rehabilitative programs. Mr. Martinez holds a B.S. in criminal justice and a minor in sociology from San Diego State University.
