Senior Analyst/Statistician
Kevin Renna, M.S.M.H.C., M.P.A., is a senior analyst/statistician at Advocates for Human Potential’s (AHP's) Center for Research and Evaluation. Over the course of his career, Mr. Renna’s research has ranged from small-scale pilot studies evaluating criminal justice re-entry programs for veteran populations to state-level multisite effectiveness studies analyzing referral and treatment patterns for individuals living with opioid use disorders. His work has earned him numerous awards, including the Bernard Locke Award for Outstanding Achievement in Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s Psychology Department, the Sawyer Business School Presidential Graduate Fellowship from Suffolk University’s Institute for Public Service, and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Fellowship from the Institute for Behavioral Health at the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy within Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management.

Combining years of experience as a community-based mental health counselor, graduate research assistant, doctoral candidate, and adjunct faculty member for the Boston College School of Social Work, Mr. Renna possesses a strong, multidisciplinary skillset that includes quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, statistical methodologies including multivariate linear modeling, dynamic and static data visualization, and data presentation with expertise in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, criminal justice, juvenile justice, health care, and social policy.

Mr. Renna holds a bachelor's degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and master’s degrees in clinical mental health counseling and public administration from Suffolk University. As a current doctoral candidate at the Institute for Behavioral Health at the Schneider Institutes for Health Policy within Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Mr. Renna is completing his dissertation that employs primary data collection to analyze the relationship between public policy and program practice in a nation-wide sample of adult drug and alcohol treatment court programs.
