Deputy Director, Technical Writing
Kay Peavey is a deputy director - technical writing for Advocates for Human Potential (AHP). She researches, writes, and edits reports, curricula, technical assistance materials, proposals, website content, elearning modules, literature reviews, presentations, meeting summaries, and marketing pieces. Prior to her work with AHP, Ms. Peavey’s professional experience includes serving, for nearly 20 years, as the principal writer for a curriculum development agency specializing in the professional growth of staff who work with populations who are underserved, coordinating the communication activities of a behavioral health and research agency’s juvenile justice division, and assisting in the duties of a court monitor’s office to ensure the protection of individuals with disabilities. She has experience writing about substance use disorders, fetal alcohol syndrome, integrated health care, trauma, cannabis legislation, criminal and juvenile justice, adult and family literacy, education and learning standards, homelessness, English for Speakers of Other Languages, parenting education, work-based learning, protection from harm, developmental disabilities, recruitment and retention, plain language writing, and farmland protection. Ms. Peavey received her B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
