Joshua Rutt, Ph.D., M.S.

Senior Research Analyst/Statistician
Joshua Rutt, Ph.D., is a senior research analyst/statistician at Advocates for Human Potential’s (AHP) Center for Research and Evaluation. Dr. Rutt has conducted research and data analysis related to behavioral health, substance use disorders, program evaluation, and time perception. His experience includes projects funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and an evaluation project funded by an Administration for Children and Families Regional Partnership Grant. He has worked with vulnerable populations, human subjects protection, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance. Dr. Rutt is involved in the batch uploading of data to SAMHSA’s Performance Accountability and Reporting System (SPARS), as well as analyzing site-specific and cross-site data. His analytic skills include restructuring raw data, merging data from multiple sources, mixed ANOVA, linear and logistic regression, multilevel modeling, longitudinal analysis, principal component analysis, effect size calculation, power analysis, and customized statistical graphics. His analytic software skills include Stata, SPSS, R, and SAS. Dr. Rutt received his M.S. in general psychology from Villanova University and his Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Cornell University.
