Senior Product Manager
Joseph Manney, M.S.Ed., senior product manager for Advocates for Human Potential (AHP), designs, coordinates, and produces virtual events, digital media products—such as eLearning products, podcasts, videos and websites—and 508-compliant delive­­­­rables. As a virtual event producer, Mr. Manney conducts pre-event staff and client trainings, provides live production and technical support, and develops marketing emails and continuing education quizzes. He has experience deploying systematic instructional design models in both eLearning and virtual event environments, and he routinely contributes instructional design support to develop virtual event series arcs, incorporate participant engagement strategies, and create high-level slide presentations. Mr. Manney has developed eLearning products using both ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) and the rapid prototyping design method, and he has experience designing objective linked evaluations. He coordinates AHP’s 508 compliance team—which remediates documents and eLearning products to the federal standards set in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0, AA (WCAG 2.0 AA)—assesses and coordinates website redesigns, and interfaces directly with service providers to ensure AHP’s digital technology is being properly maintained and used. He trains and mentors junior staff in virtual production and 508 compliance. Before joining AHP, Mr. Manney honed his editing and communication skills as a publication specialist for Professional Insurance Agents. He has developed a social media marketing guide, created an eLearning module on effective meeting planning, and written for a community newspaper. Mr. Manney is an instructional designer by training and a certified virtual event producer (CVEP) with experience in various distance learning modalities, including the ECHO model. Mr. Manney received his M.S.Ed from Purdue University.
