Kristin Stainbrook is an expert in evaluation design, research protocols, project management, focus groups, and analyzing data. Her areas of focus include homelessness, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. She currently is the lead evaluator on two federally funded projects: a Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)-funded program to provide case management and trauma services to homeless families; and a Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)-funded program to expand substance abuse, HIV, and hepatitis C education and treatment services for the criminal justice re-entry population in Albany County. Dr. Stainbrook also is an evaluator on the National Evaluation of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Co-Occurring State Infrastructure Grant (COSIG) program. Most recently, Dr. Stainbrook was the project director for a five-year Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS)/CSAT Homeless Families Initiative, in which she studied the effectiveness of case management for families leaving homeless shelters in upstate New York.
