AHP worked with one of the leading health plans in New York to reengineer their processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in using a new technology. The organization had purchased state-of-the-art software expecting significant improvements in their outcomes. When the results proved otherwise, the AHP team worked to evaluate and redesign the processes to maximize the technology investment. This involved an integrated approach, blending people, process, and technology.
To increase enrollment, AHP facilitated a redesign of the entire member acquisition process. A quality management approach that incorporated Lean Sigma optimized the process, removed constraints, and leveled / balanced workload. As a result, the client sustained 30% improvement in enrollment figures.
To improve the efficiency of leadership / senior management processes, AHP established and implemented a business system that met organizational needs and was based on established best practices, including ISO 9001, Lean Sigma, and a Balanced Scorecard. The result was an increased effectiveness of senior management and the establishment of a new strategic foundation upon which the client is building a truly high-performing company.
In another effort to improve overall efficiency, AHP redesigned the key processes of the information technology department using best practices. The Balanced Scorecard approach was used for prioritizing and reporting of projects. Consequently, the IT division has become a productive business unit that can efficiently meet both the current and future needs of the organization.
