CHAB TA

TA Services for the Co-Occurring and Homeless Activities Branch (CHAB) and its Grantees

AHP provides TA through targeted consultation, training, data analysis, and materials development for the Co-occurring and Homelessness Activities Branch (CHAB) of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and its grantees.  Through a subcontract to JBS, AHP supports CHAB with quantitative and qualitative analysis and synthesis of grantee reports. AHP conducts on-site Diagnostic Site Visits to new grantees to assess their capacity to perform their responsibilities within the scope of their grants.  AHP also conducts problem-focused site visits to address areas where grantees may be experiencing difficulties achieving the objectives of their grants; to assist with implementation of clinical programs; develop sustainability plans; strengthen administrative infrastructures; improve performance on GPRA outcome measures; and enhance the skills of administrators and clinical staff in a variety of key performance areas.  The focus of these interventions is on technology transfer with an emphasis on “science to service” and evidence-based practices. Staff develops follow-up reports and recommendations, and assists with follow-up activities in some instances.

AHP also assists with the planning and implementation of the Annual Treatment for the Homeless TA Workshop. AHP establishes the agenda, organizes the content, recruits speakers, coordinates all the logistics regarding the presentations, facilitates workshop sessions, prepares written summaries of all sessions, and makes plenary presentations. Additionally, AHP staff provides consultation, information, facilitation, and recording and reporting for conferences and workshops. AHP also provides ongoing TA to CSAT staff as requested, by conducting background research on emerging issues, developing briefing papers, preparing agendas and talking points, facilitating meetings, and coordinating with inter and intra-departmental initiatives.  AHP also has developed a ‘grantee notebook” for CHAB that contains fact sheets on all active CHAB grants.
