BOURNEWOOD HEALTH SYSTEMS – TRANSFORMING A TRADITIONAL HOSPITAL Bournewood Health Systems – Transforming a Traditional Hospital AHP helped Bournewood Health Systems to transform from a traditional, private-pay psychiatric and substance abuse treatment hospital to a health center that could ensure survival, growth, and effectiveness. In an effort led by Neal Shifman, AHP managed Bournewood’s planning process by involving disparate parties and players in a manner that was unthreatening, encouraging, and collaborative. Through this process, AHP developed Bournewood’s overall strategic plan, analyzed its revenue sources, developed a revenue enhancement plan to increase profitable contracts, and helped Bournewood to develop new customers, funding streams, and partners.
