ADDICTIONS TREATMENT FOR HOMELESS: FAMILIES LIVING TOGETHER (FLT) EVALUATION

Addictions Treatment for Homeless: Families Living Together (FLT) Evaluation
AHP is currently conducting a five-year evaluation of a program funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS). The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) program provides Integrated Clinical Case Management to homeless mothers, most with histories of abuse and trauma, who live in emergency shelters in greater Boston. The evaluation includes both process and outcome components; uses qualitative and quantitative methods in an integrated approach; and involves the target population in the design, collection, and interpretation of data. Through in-person interviews with mothers at intake, 6 months, and 12 months, it includes the measurement of several client outcomes including those related to residential stability, physical health, mental health, substance abuse, legal involvement, trauma, and social support. Focus groups with clients and project staff, key informant interviews, training surveys, group session fidelity forms, recording services given and referrals made, and document review complete the evaluation design.
