CLEARVIEW SHERMAN STREET EMPOWERMENT PROJECT

ClearView Sherman Street Empowerment Project Evaluation
AHP is conducting the evaluation for the ClearView Sherman Street Empowerment Project, which is funded under the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)’s Treatment for Homeless Initiative. The goal of this project is to provide trauma and case management services to homeless heads of households with dependent children to address the post-shelter resource and mental health and substance abuse needs of homeless families. AHP is conducting an extensive evaluation that includes assessment of fidelity to the program models, process evaluation, and determination of whether key client outcomes (residential stability, access to services needed, reduced mental health symptoms and reduced substance abuse) are achieved. The evaluation includes a mixed methods approach using quantitative and qualitative data and addresses issues of process and outcomes. Client outcomes will be assessed through in-person client interviews at program enrollment, and 6 and 12 month follow-ups. The evaluation is also collecting information from staff on the level of client participation in program services and the types of services provided to clients. The evaluation plan also includes collecting qualitative data through bi-annual focus groups with clients and key informant interviews with staff to gather information on program implementation and client satisfaction.
