ASSERTIVE ADOLESCENT TREATMENT: THE SAFE PROJECT

CSAT Assertive Adolescent and Family Treatment Evaluation: The SAFE Project

AHP is conducting an evaluation of the Strengthening Adolescents and Family Empowerment (SAFE) Project. Taking place at Dimock Community Health Center and North Suffolk Mental Health Center, this project assesses adolescents for treatment using the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN) and utilizes the Assertive Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA) coupled with Assertive Continuing Care (ACC) – evidenced-based interventions with proven effectiveness in building community capacity for family centered treatment. AHP is assessing program performance by documenting and measuring client and program outcomes and a process evaluation, including fidelity to the overall intervention and implementation.  Interviews are collected at baseline, 3-, 6-, and 12-months, with an 80 percent or higher follow-up rate across waves.  The project includes submitting data to a coordinating center, following rigorous data submission guidelines, and using an FTP site for data transfer.
