WORK AS A PRIORITY: A GUIDEBOOK Work as a Priority: A Resource for Employing People Who Have Serious Mental Illnesses and Who Are Homeless AHP developed this 2001 guidebook for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). It provides a conceptual and practical foundation for increasing employment among people who are homeless and have serious mental illnesses. The authors review the relevant literature, summarize promising employment practices, and discuss policies and laws that address the provision of employment support services. AHP staff edited the guidebook and contributed several chapters.
